Mid-Hudson Region

Mid-Hudson Region

Northern Busy transportation corridors don’t detract from the beauty and historical significance of the Mid-Hudson region.

Nestled between the Catskill Mountains to the west and the Taconic Mountains to the east, the Hudson Valley stretches for roughly 120 miles passing through imposing river gorges and rolling hills.

The Mid-Hudson region has the highest concentration of major historic sites in the U.S. The area’s heritage dates back to the 1600s, when Henry Hudson made his fabled voyage up the river that now bears his name. Strategically located, the Mid-Hudson Region serves as a major transportation route for commerce and travel connecting the East Coast to the Midwest. The region offers a variety of recreational activities such as golfing, skiing, hiking, fishing, and rock climbing. The region is also home to many museums, galleries, performing arts centers and theaters.
