RG&E $156,000 Grant Helps Nothnagle Realtors Return to Downtown Rochester
Rochester, NY – RG&E recently awarded Nothnagle Realtors $156,000 in economic development funds for electrical infrastructure upgrades at Nothnagle’s new corporate headquarters at 217 West Main Street in downtown Rochester. Nothnagle has already moved 65 employees into the newly-renovated 27,000-square foot four-story brick structure, with a few more to arrive soon, and expects to hire 35 more staffers there within the next five years.
The RG&E grant was part of a package of financial assistance Nothnagle received to help fund the $4.7 million relocation project. NYSEG and RG&E have an ongoing commitment to encourage new capital investment and grow jobs by helping retain businesses, expand existing businesses and to attract new businesses to upstate New York.
"RG&E worked with the City of Rochester, Monroe County (COMIDA) and Rochester Downtown Development Corp. (RDDC) to put together a great package that made our decision to relocate to downtown an easier one,” said Armand D’Alfonso, president of Nothnagle Realtors. “I was very impressed and pleased with how well this group worked together to help us. The funding really made a difference, and I’m very excited about moving Nothnagle downtown again, back to where we started over 60 years ago.”
“We’re happy when we can participate in a project that contributes to the revitalization of our upstate cities,” said Mark Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. “Assisting Nothnagle to move back to downtown Rochester will retain and grow jobs in upstate New York, which is exactly why NYSEG and RG&E are committed to investing in economic development in the region.”
NYSEG and RG&E are committed to invest approximately $12 million per year, for the next three years, in economic development programs with businesses that want to expand in, or relocate to, upstate New York.
