Nonresidential Customers Approved for More Than $3.5 Million in NYSEG Storm-Recovery Grants
Application Deadline Is September 1
Rochester, NY – Through August 10, NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, has approved more than $3.5 million in emergency economic development storm-recovery funding for 92 building redevelopment/revitalization and agricultural projects in 31 communities impacted by Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee. Another 105 applications from nonresidential customers are being evaluated.
“We want to help as many customers as we possibly can, but we can only help if those nonresidential customers who incurred storm damage apply for these no-strings-attached grants,” said Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. “The application process is simple, and even if repair work has already been completed, we encourage nonresidential customers to apply.”
Last October, NYSEG requested and received approval from the New York State Public Service Commission to spend up to $7 million to assist eligible businesses, municipalities, large residential establishments, agri-businesses, farms and not-for-profit agencies affected by Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee.
