NYSEG Awards $400,000 Grant to Corning Incorporated for Sullivan Park Expansion Project
NYSEG and RG&E Investing Nearly $40 Million in Growing Businesses Through 2013

Rochester, NY – NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, recently awarded a $400,000 economic development grant to Corning Incorporated for utility infrastructure investments that are part of the $400 million expansion and renovation of the company’s Sullivan Park Research and Development campus near Corning. The project includes significant renovation of an existing research and development building and construction of a new facility that will house research and development laboratories and support services.

"NYSEG is pleased to assist Corning’s continued growth and the benefits it brings to our communities,” said Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. “This project is a prime example of why we have economic development grant programs – the programs are excellent catalysts for capital investment that protects and creates jobs in upstate New York.”

“This expansion and improvement project is providing Corning with additional research and development facilities that will help us to continue to deliver new products to customers and accelerate technology innovation,” said Dr. Joseph A. Miller, executive vice president and chief technology officer. “The NYSEG grant was used to help us increase operational efficiency, flexibility, space utilization and energy efficiency.”

The NYSEG grant is part of the approximately $40 million NYSEG and RG&E plan to invest in economic development in upstate New York through 2013.
