NYSEG Awards $400,000 Grant to PCB Piezotronics Inc. for Manufacturing Expansion at Depew Facility
NYSEG and RG&E Investing Nearly $40 Million in Growing Businesses Through 2013
Rochester, NY – NYSEG recently awarded a $400,000 economic development grant to PCB Piezotronics Inc. in Depew. A $5.3 million expansion of the firm’s manufacturing facility will prevent some production from shifting to North Carolina, creating at least 75 new positions while protecting more than 500 existing jobs.
The NYSEG grant is part of the approximately $40 million NYSEG and RG&E plan to invest in economic development in upstate
New York through 2013.
“The Piezotronics project is exactly what the NYSEG and RG&E economic development programs are designed for,” said
Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. “These grants are great catalysts for capital investment that protects and creates
jobs in upstate New York.”
“This grant from NYSEG was an important factor in our decision to expand in Western New York,” said David Hore, co-president
of PCB Group, the parent company of Piezotronics. “We are adding over 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space to our Depew facility. Our increased manufacturing capacity will drive growth for the next decade and beyond.”
